Dear Coventry Families;

Tomorrow, Coventry Hills School is participating in a "Walk N' Wheel" day. This event motivates students to choose an active way of getting to school. We encourage you to talk to your children about this event and, if possible to have your children ride a bike, scooter, or walk to school that day! Students will need a bike lock that they understand how to use and will meet at the compound when they arrive at school. We have volunteers who will be putting all the bikes/scooters, etc in the gym for safe keeping for the day.  We will be placing them by class and volunteers will be there at the end of the day to ensure everyone receives their bike back. Thank you to Mrs. Dandenault, School Council and the volunteers for championing this event.  Remember there is an opportunity to win a new scooter and helmet donated by Counsellor Mian from the City of Calgary. Check out your child’s Google classroom for information.

Last week, we had a chance to celebrate all the wonderful volunteers that have supported the school in many ways.  Each grade shared and celebrated those who are an integral part of our school community. We are always looking for volunteers and if you have a special interest or talent you want to share with the school community or just some time, we would love to have you.  Just reach out to your child’s teacher.

Moving over the summer?

We are busily planning and staffing for next year.  Thank you to those parents who have let us know about your plans. We know changes happen over the summer and we are anticipating an enrollment drop that was not predicted by CBE planning. We are currently looking at a range of class sized but with an average of approximately 25 students per class in Grades 1-3 and 26 or more for Grades 4 & 5.

Just a reminder to have your child check out our lost and found as we will soon be cleaning it up and donating items left behind.  Also, just a reminder that the Community Garage Sale event is happening this weekend, and the school will be accepting donations for a few more days.

Sincerely,

Benita Dalton
