Principal's Message January 29
Dear Parents,
This week we will see warm winter weather once again. Just a reminder to ensure that students are wearing snow pants and jackets outside so when they are playing in the wet snow conditions they will be comfortable and dry. Thank you to those who participated in Family Literacy Day on Saturday. Don’t forget to post your pictures on the Coventry Hills School Council Facebook or Instagram pages to win a prize from School Council. Thank you to those parents who came out for our School Council Meetings. Soon, the minutes from the meeting with be posted on our school website.
Tuesday, January 20th is the release date for your child’s report cards. They are available on your child’s MyCBE Account. Please refer to our school website for access information as well as information sent out on Friday, January 26th.
Staffing Update:
Starting next week, Ms. Dalton, the Principal will be away for a few weeks to recover from a surgery. In her place will be Ms. Lynette Zapp, a retired CBE principal who will be supporting Mrs. Baker, our Assistant Principal and Coventry Hills School. If you have need to reach out to the school, they will be happy to assist you. Ms. Zapp can be reached at lazapp@cbe.ab.ca.
This week we welcome back Ms. Bakich who has been on leave and will be returning on February 1st. I would like to thank Mrs. Friesen who was covering in January for her work with the students. In addition, I would like to announce that Ms. Brady, our Physical Education teacher will be taking a leave starting on February 5th as she is expecting her first baby. Ms. Brady has been at Coventry Hills School for almost 10 years and she is excited to be starting this new chapter. We wish her all the best as she takes this time to be with her newborn and family. We are currently looking to staff this position and will announce who will be taking over the physical education position for the remainder of the school year. Ms. Brady will be missed and we look forward to her return in the 2025- 2026 school year.
A new look to our school website is coming in February. Our school website is being upgraded and will have a different look. The most important areas for parents are the News Stories and Calendar where up-to-date information is shared. A message will be sent out to families when the new Website has been launched.
