Dear Parents and Guardians:

Winter Celebration- The Spirit of Giving Family Open house.

Just a reminder to save the date for this upcoming Thursday for our first ever, Winter Celebration Open House. The school doors will open at 5:30 and families are invited to come to join in the festivities of making a gift for someone in our community.  All items will be donated to various local organizations within the Coventry Hills Community and the City. Some of the items will take longer than others to make, so we encourage families to move around our school to find activities that the whole family will enjoy. As this is an open house, people are free to come and go as they please. 

We envision a lot of people moving around the school, enjoying the activities as they are free flowing.  Students are asked to stay with their families due to the large volume of people who will be participating in the events.  We are anticipating a big turn out so once all the materials have been used we will close the activities.  Parent support may be required for some of the crafts that are being created depending on the age of your child.  For some of our items, we plan on making several hundred gifts for some of the organizations. Thank you to Coventry Hills School Council and CHEFS for supporting this family event and providing funds to cover the costs of materials.  

Professional Development Day

Last Friday, teachers spent the day working with the new curriculum and calibrating students work.  This time was invaluable to teachers as they had student work at the center of their conversations, examining the student strengths and next steps in learning. This work aligns with our 2023 -2024 School Development Plan that has been posted on our school website.

We look forward to hosting some festive fun that benefits the community at large.
