Student-Led Conferences
This week is Student-Led Conferences on Thursday, March 21 and Friday, March 22. We encourage all parents to sign up and to connect with their child’s teacher regarding their child’s learning. The students are excited to be able to share their learning progress with parents as a part of the conversation. A reminder for Kindergarten families that there is no school for Kindergarten students on Thursday, March 21. No school for all students on Friday, March 22. Classes resume on Tuesday, April 2 after Spring Break.
School Planning Survey | Deadline Mar 31 - Win a $25 Gift Card
Thank you to School Council and those who attended the in-person meeting regarding our school planning engagement meeting regarding our School Development Plan and Budget. This information feeds forward our planning and decision-making process for the next school year. We have had a few parents fill out the survey already and we are looking forward to more responses. Please watch the video School Planning and You to gain a context of how schools make planning decisions. The school presentation is on our school website, on the School Planning Engagement page. In addition to raising awareness of the engagement survey and to have more parent responses, thank you to School Council who is offering a prize draw for families who fill out the survey. See Nadine Guard’s Message below.
Ms. Dalton sent out an email earlier this month on our School Planning Survey. This survey is 100% anonymous and will need to be completed by March 31. This is a critical piece of feedback for our school and forms the basis for future planning for our school.
We only had 13 parents complete last year, so we will be offering the option for you to advise us if you completed it, by voluntarily adding your name to win a $25 SuperStore gift card. Let’s get involved in the future!
Coventry Hills Celebrations of Learning
Coventry Hills School students will be showcasing more detailed student work as a part of our Student Celebrations of Learning. The Celebrations of Learning is our way to communicate and share with parents the types of learning that is happening at Coventry Hills School. Each grade group will be hosting a special open house evening where the students are showcasing their work and engaging in learning with their parents. Celebrations of the Learning create opportunities for students to:
- Have an authentic audience for students to share their work
- Reflect on the content and skills they have learned, how they have learned, questions they have answered, and to identify areas of strength and next steps
In April, we will be sending out grade specific information regarding the Celebrations of Learning but we ask you to save following dates as each grade will present from 5:30pm to 7:30pm in an open house format. Come celebrate your child’s learning with us!
- Thursday, April 25 – 5:30pm to 7:30pm–Grades 2 and 3
- Thursday, May 2 – 5:30pm to 7:30pm – Grades 4 and 5
- Thursday, May 9 – 5:30pm to 7:30pm – Kindergarten and Grade 1
