Dear Parents and Guardians,

Welcome to the new school year! I hope that you and your family had a wonderful summer filled with rest, relaxation, and special memories. As we begin another exciting year of learning and growth, I am thrilled to welcome both returning and new families and staff to our school community.

Before the year begins, I would like to extend my heartfelt thanks to our entire school community for the support, encouragement, and kind words you shared with me while I was on leave. Your thoughtfulness and care were deeply appreciated, and I am truly grateful to be part of such a compassionate and supportive community.

I would also like to sincerely thank Mr. Faunt, Acting Principal, and Mrs. Baker, our Assistant Principal, for their dedication and leadership during my absence. Their commitment to our students, staff, and families helped ensure a successful year, and I am grateful for their help in leading our school community.

I am very happy to be returning to this wonderful learning community. One of the things that makes our school so special is the strong partnership among students, families, and staff. Together, we create a welcoming, inclusive, and caring environment where every child is encouraged to learn, grow, and succeed.

The start of a new school year brings renewed opportunities for students to build friendships, develop confidence, discover new interests, and achieve their personal best. Our staff has been working hard to prepare engaging learning experiences and to ensure that every student feels valued, supported, and ready to learn.

We recognize that a strong partnership between home and school is essential to student success. We encourage open communication throughout the year and welcome your involvement in your child's educational journey. Together, we can support each student in reaching their full potential.

In the first week of school, parents will be receiving emails from CBE communications, teachers and student packages. Please take time to fill out any important paperwork and review any information sent home regarding school procedures, important dates, and upcoming events. We encourage families to stay connected through our school website, School Messengers, and the Google Classroom. Teachers will soon be activating their Google Classrooms as a portal for sharing classroom updates and learning experiences. Parents are encouraged to visit the Google Classroom twice a week to ensure families are up to date on what is happening in your child’s classroom.

During our spring staffing processes, we have several new staff members.  Mrs. Kazmar, our Library Assistant retired in July and we will be staffing her position by early September. We also said goodbye to Mr. Maxwell, Ms. Pacunayen and Ms. Sherstobitoff.  We are welcoming several new teachers who have joined us or are covering for a teacher on leave. Welcome to Ms. Tse, Mr. White, Ms. Leblond, Ms. Thibault, Ms. Bano and one more teacher.  We are welcoming back Mr. Hodgers, Mrs. Hyrnuik and Ms. Fofonoff.

Our school office opens on Wednesday, August 26th.  If you require assistance, you can call the office during our office hours.  Teachers will be sending out School Messengers with letters of introduction to our families by Friday, August 28. In the letters, families will learn about their child’s new teacher and first day procedures. Just a reminder, parking is limited so we encourage our families to walk to school.

We look forward to seeing students' smiling faces and hearing about their summer adventures. Thank you for your continued support, trust, and partnership. I am excited to begin this new school year with you and look forward to all that we will accomplish together.
