Dear parents,

Report cards are being released on Monday, January 27th and are available for your viewing and downloading through your child's MyCBE account, which can be accessed on our school website. If you have trouble accessing your account, please contact our front office. The report card reflects your child's academic achievement to date in relation to the Alberta curriculum outcomes and the learning activities that have occurred in class. I want to take a moment to thank you for your continued support as we work together to ensure the success of each student.

Teachers assess student learning by taking snapshots in time, using their professional judgment in relation to the outcomes of the Alberta Curriculum to determine report card grades. These report cards are designed to provide you with clear and meaningful insights regarding your child's academic progress. This year, we have a new structure for our report card comments, where teachers highlight areas of strength and areas for growth. Each report card contains comments that are directly linked to your child's curriculum outcomes.

Additionally, to help parents understand their child's achievement, we share information through the CBE Grade Book, which is also viewable in your child's MyCBE account. Teachers upload significant assignments and provide assessment rubrics that detail your child's performance on specific tasks in relation to the curriculum. You can access information for each curricular area to see assessments that have been a major part of your child's learning since September.

For additional information, I have attached a flatsheet, "How is My Child Doing in School Today" for further reference. If you have any concerns about your child's achievement, please reach out directly to your child's teacher so we can discuss how we can partner for their future success.

Thank you for your continued support and partnering in your child’s learning.

Best regards,

Benita Dalton, Principal.
