Dear Coventry Families
Tomorrow is our last day of school, and it is an early dismissal. All students will be dismissed at 12:50. Please ensure you are at the school on time to pick up your child. Only afternoon kindergarten students will attend for the morning classes. Students will be bringing home their school belongings starting today after school and tomorrow so please send an extra bag or 2 to carry their belongings. Lost and found was cleaned up today and donated to Goodwill.
CBE released student report cards today and they are all online. Parents can access their child’s report card by logging into their MyCBE account by clicking the following link Student and Parent / Legal Guardian Sign In (cbe.ab.ca) If you are having troubles, please use the following link Accessing Online Report Cards through MyCBE - Coventry Hills School. Our Appeals Day is Friday, June 28th from 9:00 - 11:00 am. If you have questions regarding your child's report card please call to the school office to set up an appointment.
As the year ends, it is time to reflect on all the wonderful things that have happened during the school year. We have come closer as a community by the wonderful whole school events that have allowed families to come to the school and partake in many different experiences. Thank you to all the parents who have come to volunteer over the past year. We could not have done it without you.
On June 21st, we made renewed our commitment to Truth and Reconciliation through Education and we are continuing our commitment to 63.3: Commit to learning about and through Indigenous knowledges focused on building student capacity for intercultural understanding, empathy, and mutual respect (focus on renewing respectful relationships between Indigenous and non-Indigenous peoples). We will ground our learning in Land-based pedagogical practices and the CBE Holistic Lifelong Learning Framework. This is posted on our School Website under Our School tab.
The end of the year is a time for saying goodbye to our grade 5 students and we have so enjoyed them as a part of Coventry Hills School's story. We wish each and every student and their families who are transitioning to a new school all the best. In addition, we have several staff members that we need to say goodbye to. For our teaching staff, we say goodbye to Mrs. Dunlop, Mrs. Boone, Miss Izyk, Miss Kennedy, Ms. Locke, and Ms. Chaperon who are all going off to new schools in the fall. We thank them for their work and contributions over their time at Coventry Hills School. We are also saying farewell to Mrs. Syed, Ms. Thawer and Ms. Amina from our support staff. With these changes we are also welcoming several new teachers to Coventry Hills school including Mrs. Thomson, Ms. Peller, Mrs. St. Pierre and we are looking forward to working with them in the fall.
We wish everyone a safe and wonderful summer holiday and look forward to seeing those who are returning on the first day of school on Thursday, August 29th.
