Dear Coventry Families,
We hope everyone had a wonderful long weekend and enjoyed the late warm fall weather. Soon, the leaves will be falling and the colors will be fading as the cold weather will be upon us. We have several jackets and hoodies in our lost and found so just a reminder to send your child down to look for lost items. We request that students now come prepared for all kinds of weather as we know Calgary weather can change drastically, and it can become very cold in a few short hours. We continue to go outside up to -20 degrees Celsius. So, dress for the weather. A reminder to write your child’s name on boots, hoodies and mitts before sending them to school with your child. It is easy for us to return a lost item if we know who it belongs to.
This week will be our first “Coffee and Connect” open session for parents. This month we will be sharing information regarding how to access your child’s summative assessment assignments in powerschool so that you can celebrate your child’s learning achievement. In addition, we will be sharing information regarding our collaborative approaches to teaching that support your child’s next step in learning. Click to the link to sign up so we know how many people to anticipate this Friday. Click the link to sign up to join us. Yes, I would like to join the coffee and conversation . Unfortunately, due to availability of schedules, we are only able to offer these during the daytime. We look forward to seeing you out!
October 5 was World’s Teachers Day, and I just wanted to express my gratitude to the teachers at Coventry Hills School who work in service of our students. They are committed professionals who bring learning to life every day. We are so lucky to have them be a part of our school community.
Lastly, thank you to all the volunteers who came out to support the Family BBQ on our Teacher Open House Evening. It was great to see so many people out, meeting new families and being a part of our school community. The School Council worked tirelessly to coordinate the event, and it could have been done without these key people. We are always looking for volunteers for school events. If you are interested and do not have a police clearance, reach out to Mrs. Cohen in our office during the day and she can help parents with the process.
Sincerely,
Ms. Dalton, Principal
