Dear Parents and Guardians,

Happy Halloween to all those who are celebrating this weekend! We hope your family enjoys a fun-filled, safe, and festive Halloween, and we wish everyone a wonderful weekend. As a reminder, on Monday, we ask that students bring healthy snacks to school and leave their Halloween candy at home. Candy can be enjoyed after the school day, helping us maintain a positive and focused learning environment for all students.

Remembrance Day Assembly

Earlier this week, we sent a SchoolMessenger invitation to families regarding our upcoming Remembrance Day Assembly. If you are planning to attend, please click the SignUpGenius link included in the message and register the number of family members who will be joining us. This information helps us prepare the space and ensure there is sufficient seating for all guests.

This year, our Grade 3 students will be hosting the assembly, and we encourage families to attend if possible. Remembrance Day is an important occasion that allows us to reflect on the sacrifices made by those who have served and continue to serve our country. Through this assembly, students will have the opportunity to learn about the importance of remembrance, gratitude, and peace. We look forward to sharing this meaningful event with our school community.

Colder Weather

November brings colder weather and soon we will be wearing our winter boots every day.  A reminder to have non-marking running shoes at school so that students can participate in gym.  As Calgarians, when the cold winds blow and the snow arrives, we continue to go outside in all types of weather.  Please ensure that your child is dressed appropriately and has all the important winter clothing such as a warm coat, hats, mitts, snowpants and snow boots.  If the weather is below 20 Degrees Celsius, we will stay indoors. If it is an extremely cold day, we put up signs on all doors announcing a “Blue Day” which indicates to families and students that they can come in any door at the beginning of the school day and head directly into classrooms.  On this day, the only supervisors are Ms. Dalton and Mrs. Baker, the administration who supports our students at the crosswalks.   Students go outside at least twice a day for recess and lunch. Students need to be dressed accordingly.  If families require support for supplying winter clothing for your child, please reach out to the school office as we have donations from the organization: Jacket Raquet.  Mrs. Baker will be putting in requests for coats, snowpants and boots. If you are in need please reach out and we will happily help families.

Parking Reminder

We would like to remind parents that the area directly in front of the school is a No Parking Zone and is a Bussing Zone during student dismissal. This space is reserved for our school buses and daycare vans. Keeping this area clear is essential to ensure safe and efficient access for buses and daycare transportation vehicles. Your cooperation helps us maintain the safety of all students and families during our busy dismissal period.

Thank you for your continued support and partnership.

Sincerely,

Benita Dalton
